THE GREATEST BROADCAST OF ALL TIME

OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!

okay so i feel that this letter will mostly focus on the AMAZING broadcast from last night, since i was smart and actually brought my NOTES to the library this time hahaha and this week was pretty regular anyways. :) but just a quick re-cap......... we have the greatest ward ever and i love them, nacho is my new bff, she came with us to a lesson and bore the GREATEST testimony of prayer that totally brought the spirit like woah and made the whole lesson amazing, it was awesome, we volunteer at the habitat for humanity restore which is the greatest idea ever, it's like home depot meets goodwill and dad would love it, and while i was there i made up mad-gabs (sometimes it's pretty slow, especially when there are thunder & lightning storms ps we have had the biggest craziest thunderstorms of my life this week) and so here is my mad-gab: "chilled rent office real." i was pretty proud of myself. (that could be an indicator for how the week went............ take it however you like hahaha) :) :)

SO THEN THERE WAS THIS BROADCAST. and hooooooooolyy smokies was it good. and boy howdy did i need it. and did i cry? why yes i did because it was amazing and i felt it. :) :) i mayyyy have mentioned last letter about the seven-month-slump and i how i feel like i'm getting worse at a missionary and how i feel like i'm not good at anything? did i mention that? i think so. anyways, Heavenly Father is merciful and loving and aware, and it's not like everything is 100% better but let me tell you two things that are amazing: 1) CHURCH. 2) the Spirit. and they go together like wham. it's the best. God really does know what He's doing with these commandments hahaha. :) :) :) also, living apostles & prophets & modern revelation. i just can't get over that hahaha it's JUST SO COOL :) :) :) :) :)

sooooooooooo bascially it was the best. and i love this ward because they are already ALL over it!! they always invite their friends to dinner with us, or to church, or they text us and say they want to come out with us, and when we passed around a "when do you have some time to come out with the sister missionaries" calendar it came back FULL. yes, they are the best. :) :) :)

so can everyone just please watch this broadcast? and can we show the videos in every member appointment ever? and can we use the internetand ipads soon? yes we can :) :) :)

Probably the number 1 thing that I loved from the broadcast was just the spiritual, personal reminder of Jesus Christ's PERSONAL interest in me and in what I'm doing. that felt good hahah. :) I always knew that Jesus was interested, invested even, but I just liked the word "personal." like He really does have a PERSONAL interest in me! we're like BFFS! we're more than BFFs, we're related!! :) :) :) best friend ever <3 alsoooooooo one of those videos, i forget which one, i think the missionary song medly one? reminded me that THIS, what i'm doing right now, is what i've prepared my whole life for. and it's what mom & dad have prepared me my whole life for. this is it! this is the culmination of so much! not like this is the end goal of my life but serving a mission is what i've wanted for soooooooo long and prepared for soooooo much and what mom & dad have raised me for and sacrificed so much for and now i'm living it!! :) :) :) it reminds me of the talk we had in sacrament meeting last week -- ps this kind of cracked me up because (oh i am going to sound heartless, and i feel bad but...) the man was speaking about a really hard experience, and he got pretty emotional and choked up, and i thought it was going to be like his mom has cancer or something.... well it was that his dog had died, but it was a really great talk because he talked about his two new lab puppies and how they were bred to be bird dogs (POINT!) and then talked about what we were bred to do, and how we were bred to love. and it was just really great but it kind of cracked me up too, so it was awesome :)

anyways...... israel israel God is calling! and this is what it means to follow the prophet. in noah's day it meant get on the ark, in moses' it meant cross the red sea, in Jesus' day it meant leave your nets behind, and for me today in 2013 it means be here in Green Bay Wisconsin and work my heart out everyday to bring souls to Christ. what does it mean for you? :) :)

i loved the soccer team analogy... i loved how they said that friends and neighbors are properly situated to invite, because that is so true.... we don't have any friends here haha but the members do! I loved the video they showed of the family, i loved Elder Holland's *promise* that an invitation that is born of our love for them and for Jesus Christ, & our sincere concern for their happiness, will NEVER be recieved with offense :) woooo-hoooooo prophetic promises!! oh and that reminds me -- sometime Elder Oaks asked when he was here was "How does it feel to be a prophetic priority?" meaning that the prophet personally prays for us every day. and someone else yesterday was like "i hope you're having a great day! you'd better be, you've got like 10 million people praying for you" hahaha which is so true!!!!!! & i can feel the prayers and they're great :) boy howdy do we need them! Also i'm thinking about adopting "boy howdy" as my new go-to phrase..... what do you think? ;)

anyways, family history is great, families are great, rescue work is great, missions are great, and God is great :) it was the awesomest meeting ever. what were your thoughts?? boy howdy i would love to hear them!!! (okay okay i'll stop hahah) ps i'm sorry i haven't responded to letters all transfer!!!!!!!!!! also - THIS IS IMPORTANT TAKE NOTE - we got a new mission office address!! so they've been holding the mail for a while so i haven't gotten any haha but i think it'll come soon, they usually hold it during transfers anyways, speaking of which this
is the craziest transfer ever ahhhhh i fwd'd the transfer board and the new mission address to mom & dad i think :) nate-ster i should fwd the address to you too.... or i could just attach it to this email I guess haha. i'll just do that :)   okay my new address is:

Sister Cecelia Proffit
Wisconsin Milwaukee Mission
7111 W. Edgerton Ave STE #100
Greenfield, WI 53220 :)

also that email cracked me up with the fortune cookie segue hahaha. (how do you even spell segue anyways????)

soooooooo speaking of segues...... i loved the mission broadcast! The Lord's objectives are accomplished one soul at a time! this is something Elder Oaks talked about last week (think 1st vision..... question to ponder, why did the Father and Jesus Christ appear to just one boy? why not a crowd of people?) and Elder Bendar in that
FANTASTICALLY AMAZING LIFE-CHANGING talk from the MTC - why did the Savior touch the 16 stones from the brother of Jared 1 at a time?? (see ether 3. i think. maybe 2.)

act by inspiration, motivated by life. decide to do it right. decide to be better. (decide what to be, and go
be it.) :)

Israel, Israel, God IS calling! Now is the time, and we are the troops:) I love this great redemptive work, and I love my Savior Jesus Christ, in Whose strength I can do all things :) :)and I love YOU, family! i love this gospel that lets us be together forever, AS a family! love, love, love it. love this gospel. love you all. amen. :) :) :) :)

xoxoxoxo
SISTER CECELIA PROFFIT, MISSIONARY :)
oh and i just want to add a ps that there is no greater bromance than the quoroum of the 12 apostles. if that is blasphemous, i am sorry. It is true. :) :) :)act by inspiration, motivated by LOVE i mean hahaha my fingers are too fast. also someTHING elder oaks said, not sometime. whatever. you get it. :) :) love you!!!

is there anything better than a sneak-attack-from-the-back hug from an old hmong grandmama? no, no there is not :) :)

hello family! i can't believe how quickly this week has gone by! every week is like p-day, district meeting, exchanges, planning, service, saturday, church.... p-day again!! what the whaattt?? so this week went by way too quickly.
the obviously highlight is (of course) getting to meet with an APOSTLE. hey remember how Jesus called like 12 or so apostles back in the day? and how after his death they called another one? Peter,James, John, those guys? yeah we have LIVING apostles on the earth today with the exact same power & authority and it is AWESOME. Jesus Christ has again called apostles and given them authority! and they go around the world and testify of Him! it is amazing! and one came to Wisconsin! and he shook my hand! and said hello sister proffit! and also 4 seventies were there! (those are from the bible too...) :) and it was awesome! and i played the piano while sister erickson played violin and my friends elder kanahele and elder densley sang! and i didn't even mess up that bad!! haha thanks for the prayers, seriously, it was really good and i loved it :) :) :)
so that was awesome. Elders Ward, Funk, Nielson, and Clayton came, and then of course Elder Dallin H. Oaks, who it turns out is HILARIOUS and loves to make jokes about his balding head and then laugh so hard his shoulders shake hahahahaha it was marvelous. i loved it :) they're all so happy! :) of course i left my notes at home but the main thing isn't even what they said, it was just how they said it...... ah. i loved it. Elder Oaks talked for about an hour, it flew by, just random stuff kind of, he would be like "hmm what else do i need to tell you......" and then go off on something else. it was awesome. probably one of my favorite things he said was that we are the only ones (us + him and the other general authorities, but mostly us) who get to do this full-time. you'll spend the rest of your life trying to balance work and family and school and life, but right now you get to be a full-time missionary. so BE A FULL-TIME SERVANT. and just the way he said it..... the Spirit was like boom. yeah. do that. :) :) :) it's harrrrrrdd!! haha but it's the only way to be!!
> so sometimes i feel like i'm just getting worse and worse as a missionary as time goes on haha i think i'm in like a seven-month-slump or something............ which is lame........... but i'm working on it!! and sister erickson has been amazing, and being a sister training leader is helping even though i'm feeling WAYunderqualified still hah. this next transfer should be crazy! we're way excited!
> as far as investigators go, there's not much to report..... we still have not had any friends come to church with us, but that's okay, there's always next week.... lots of people have said they want to be baptized, it's just a matter of meeting with them and helping them progress and feel loved, so that's our goal for the upcoming week. we did a lot of volunteer work this week at the railroad museum, which was way fun and we met a lot of people, but it did cut into our proselyting time. but that's okay. next week will be different :) also there is the worlds giantest spider in the library window next to me right now. but that's irrelevant haha.
> sooooo.......... that's been the week!! I love you all, I miss you tons, I love being in Green Bay :) This ward is amazing, they're so excited to introduce us to their friends so we're working on doing that in the best way and helping everyone to come unto Christ! Woo-hooo!!! What a great work we are engaged in!! :) :) I love it. I really do love it, even when I'm tired and grumpy haha. The Lord is merciful! He loves us all. He is patient with us, and He sees so much more in us than we see in ourselves. Hopefully someday I'll be able to be some tiny part of what He sees in me :)
love, love, love you so much --- have a great week :) :)>
sister cece proffit :) oh ps - one thing that i also loved from elder oaks is that he said he didn't know something. elder holland did that too when he spoke at the MTC. elder oaks was like "what is the gospel apart from the church? well, i'm still thinking about that one...." and i LOVE that! Even the apostles don't know everything! they don't need to! so take a chill pill sister Proffit and just rely on what you DO know haha :)
anyways. love love love you still :) :)  xoxoxoxox

I LOVE GREEN BAY WISCONSIN............. whattt??????

Wellllllll wellll wellllllll......... another week over and done with already!!! it's been a GREAT one, as usual. Missionary work is never the same! :) I wrote down just some random things that I wanted to tell you all, so we'll see how this email goes haha.

Last Monday we got home from grocery shopping and had like -3 seconds till we had to be at correlation so we just stuffed our grocery bags into the fridge.... a la "it's a miracle" hahahaha it made me laugh :) :) Other funnies...... we learned that "Packer Sunday," with abbreviated 30 minute sermons, is a real-life thing. Go Pack Go! hahaha :) :) additionally, we were role playing with the zone leaders at mission leadership conference, the
baptism invitation, and the one companion was like "what scripture should we use.......... 3 Ne. 3:7?" and his companion was like "NO" hahahaha..... look it up ;)

food update: i'm addicted to these things called "gogo squeez." all-natural applesauce in a deliciously convenient spoonless pack. I think it might be baby food. but i love it regardless. :)

scenery update: green bay wisconsin continues to be the most beautiful area of all time. OF ALL TIME. the end. (i sent some pictures home but they are lame at capturing the amazing beauty of the world God gave us
to live in. He loves us tons, it's whatever. Well actually it's not but you know.) :)

IMPORTANT update: I have a new bff named........NACHO. NACHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! technically her name is pronounced na-CHOW (kind of... it's Hmong) but literally everyone calls her Nacho. it's awesome. And on a more serious note, she asked for a priesthood blessing yesterday and it was... so beautiful. so much beauty. God's love for each
individual.... it's amazing.

More important updates........ I officially love the Green Bay 2nd ward and have adopted them into my heart. They are amazing. Too many amazing people to write about but suffice it to say they are ALL amazing and I love them ALL so so much!!!! We had Ward Council yesterday and my head was spinning hahaha it was going so so fast! (Bishop has ADD I think.) It was awesome though! and then we had the most amazing relief society lesson ever about the temple! and I remember how grateful I am for the temple! and that I love my family so so much!!! And yes I definitely cried! it was embarrassing but not because I love the Green Bay 2nd ward relief society like they are my home ward! :) :) :)

We've had some amazing teaching opportunities with members and their friends which has been AMAZING of course, i'm overusing that word but i don't care, it's true. And we had a great exchange on Saturday with
Sturgeon Bay!! It made me really really really grateful for the Sister Training Leader program and SO humbled to BE a sister training leader, but it seriously is so great to be able to go into and area, feel such
a love for these sisters, and identify how we can best help them and lift their area and find "more joy in His service!" :) These poor Sister had been tracting all day every day for 3 weeks............ not okay. It was wearing on them; you could tell they just weren't happy. So we halted THAT and brainstormed together some new creative better finding methods and then put them into practice! Let's use the members! Let's get creative! Let's please not just be knocking doors all day long!! haha. So it was cool to be able to help. And it was really good for me too because I've been feeling just SO YOUNG lately and like I have NOOOOOOOOO idea what I'm doing (satan you sneaky dog.........) so it was good. I don't know much, but I do have a bit of experience and I DO love these sister so so much and I love what the Lord has called us to do :) How great is our calling???????????? (SO GREAT!!!)

So basically I love being a missionary, and I love all of you. Family you are the greatest!! We are a forever family. Hallelujah!!! aaaaaaaaamen :) :) :) have a great week!!! live the gospel, love the gospel, share the gospel :)

xoxoxoxoxox

SISTER CECELIA PROFFIT  :) :)

and um okay SORRY about the horrible spelling and grammar towards the end of this haha i was feeling a bit rushed for time???? but i do have 10 more minutes haha so....... my bad. :) :) and SINCE i have more time, i'll tell you one quick story -- after our exchange with sturgeon bay, we met in the TINIEST TOWN EVER with the
most BEAUTIFUL view for pizza.... it was delicious, and then we talked to to the pizza worker and told him who we were and invited him to church and prayed with him and got his number to text him the address haha. thumbs up for missionary work! talk with everyone! :) :) haha. AND we've met a ton of awesome people, and like all of them want to be baptized. well not all of them but so many of them. one of them is italian. it is awesome. :) :) we call him FRATELLO HERSI, all-caps always. :) :) :)

loveeeee youuuuu!!!!! missionary work is the best!!! Xoxooxoxoxoxoxo

shoot dang it i had the best title worked out for this email too............

........... buuuuuuuuttt now i can't remember it haha oh well! :)

another week gone by already??? SO CRAZY. it's been a full one and
time just went by SO fast i feel. Wednesday/Thursday we exchanged with
Marquette so I got to go to MICHIGAN for the first time in my life,
suuuuuper exciting, and it's like a 2 hour drive one-way to escanaba
where the meeting point was sooooooooooooooooooo we spent a lot of
time in the car haha which made for a pretty short exchange but it was
still good!! both of our thursday appointments fell through so we just
went "down to the river to pray" and talked to people down by the
fox(y) river :) which was actually pretty fun. we met some interesting
people hahah :) and it was fun to be with sister reese, she's from
washington too and she's delightful, she's brand-new but already a
pro. so fun. it's still super weird to me that i'm a sister traning
leader haha i don't think i'm doing it right? it's crazy because no
one really knows who we are or what we do so we're just making it
up........... haha. but it's fun :) friday was mission leadership
council, the first one ever that sisters have been invited to,
wooooo...... haha we just like sat there and they were like "so do you
have anything to say?" and we were like "....... nope! sounds good!"
haha but it was good. i really like the other sister training leaders
:) and apparently one of our other responsibilities is to train at the
monthly zone training meeting now, and since the UP is so far away
they don't come to us, we go to them............ so it looks like
we're heading back up to da UP this week! hahaha so funnnn :) but
actually it will be because the UP is hilarious. and the drive goes
RIGHT along the bay (bey) and it's gorgeous. love love love it. you
all are probably tired of hearing about how beautiful wisconsin is but
it is. and we got to teach jill this week! and she is lovely! she had
an lds friend in new york and they went to palmyra together and the
sacred grove and all that and she thought it was really cool and
peaceful, and her friend gave her a book of mormon that she's going to
read this week and then will she get baptized? YES she will :) :)

finding is the struggle of all time but we're still working hard and
praying for a family! this ward is so great and involved and excited
to get to help us so that's amazing :) and we're meeting lots of great
people every day. sister erickson is a champ at staying motivated...
sometimes i get tired or cranky and satan works pretty hard on
me....... BUT church was amazing (aaaaaaas per usual, gosh, Heavenly
Father really knows what He's doing with these commandments!) and one
of the sisters is relief society made a comment that I know to be true
-- she said "The Lord is working harder for me that satan works
against me." And I know that that's true! I always knew God was more
POWERFUL than satan, but for some reason I really liked that she put
it that way -- the Lord is working hard for us! I know that He is. He
loves us too much to not be :) He is pulling for us and rooting for us
and working for us, and let us all keep in mind that this is the
All-Powerful All-Loving Creator of the Universe we're talking about
here :) He who hung the stars and filled the oceans and made ALL
THINGS BEAUTIFUL..... and let us also remember that in His hands, dust
becomes stars :) (corny but true!) So I just love Him. I love Him for
His unending, never-ceasing patience with me, His love for me, the
beautiful sky and earth and all creations, and for the double rainbow
last Saturday and the thunderstorm in Wisconsin :) I just LOVE HIM and
I love what He has called me to do. His love is real, you guys. Go
team! :) :) :) :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU FOREVER

XOXOXOXOX
