“in His plan there are no true endings”

oh family, family, family :) :)

first of all, i love you. did you know that you are my greatest love? well, obviously the gospel of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are my greatest love. but my SECOND greatest loves are my family and my mission. and the only thing that makes leaving one behind okay is the other. :) :) :) so thank you for being so wonderful <3

in OTHER news, it's been a crazy week! as always! hahaha actually it's been a pretty good one. let's start with the update on my feelings. things i have felt this week (in no particular order): good. happy. anxious. anticipation. happy. good. calm. peace. crying. overjoyed. ecstatic. crying. happy. sad. anxious. love. extremely happy. laughing. cold. warm. surprised. nostalgia. excitement. anxious. confidence. happy. good. happy. good. peace. happy. :)i think that about covers it ;)

but seriously though. it's been a super good week. the Lord has blessed me mucho :) i've actually been pretty good, like it hasn't felt real & i keep forgetting.... saturday night & sunday we had stake conference and i kept having mini seizures of anxiety and being like "i'm never going to see these people again!!!" but i survived :) :) also sunday i kept crying but i think that's because it was easter. the bonners asked about my family so i obviously cried.... and brother b gave me a blessing so i obviously cried. but overall i have felt very peaceful :) AND, i'm almost finished packing :) #gome :)

well tuesday was my last district meeting and elder andrus played "God Be With You Till We Meet Again" on the electronic piano about 973888 times... "verse 9!" hahaha. it was annoying but... thoughtful? ;)

wednesday we did yard work and that was fun! reminded me of mom ;) also, i am in love with the state of wisconsin. like i'm pretty sure i like it better than any other place on earth.......... #howdidthathappen #sorrynotsorry #didntseethatonecoming18monthsago ;) also i would like to go to nauvoo soon.

thursday we did family history with sister t (less-active) and her (non-member) friend :) best question: "how is this free?? why???" ohhhh, let me tell you friend :) :) :)

also, after volunteering at the library, c the librarian was like "well bye, see you never!" (basically) and i was like "um excuse you, i'll be back here next week at 2:30..." (basically.) it was weird. story of my week. :)

also, got tons of mail this week! haha thanks to everyone.... y'all are the best for this sister missionary in the end-stages of missionary life haha :) :) :) <3

friday we went to say goodbye to my bff sister g who is in her 90s. she is my bff because when she is calling someone to come over she says "come, come ye saints!" and so do i :) #besties. we finna skype when i get home. i am NOT well pleased with all of these goodbyes but it is okay. thank goodness for technology ;) best quote from her: "don't cry... it's all happy" :) :) okay sister gilman. okay :)

also, we watched the "because of Him" video with her and she read it out loud and CHEERED - like literally fists in the air cheered - when Jesus was resurrected :) :) :) :) <3 also we saw the rehbecks and i love them.

these is the weirdest email ever. details when i see you? haha :)

ALSO on friday we went on the lake walk and i loved it. it was warm! and sunshiney! and we talked to so many people and i loved it!! :) :) :) pictures to come :) :)

SATURDAY was my favorite day. i literally said "this is my favorite day" out loud so many times. because it was. happiness is cool because it builds and builds and builds on itself. i'm happier today than i've ever been in my life. how cool! :) :) :)

i have a problem because on saturday i called every culvers in the greater milwaukee area looking for someone who could get me a pint of chocolate eclair frozen custard. #favorite #addiction?

saturday was exceptional because it was STAKE CONFERENCE and elder godoy from the seventy spoke and he is my new favorite person...... ever :) https://www.lds.org/church/leader/carlos-a-godoy seriously he is great. i will now include a series of quotes. prepare yourself for greatness :) [important fact: he is from brazil. brazilian is my new favorite accent ever. spanish + french = win.] :)

"We're not doing different things, we're just doing more, better, faster."

"The Lord is saying, Please! Would you help me? This is why I know that if you pray for missionary opportunities, the Lord will answer you, because they're already happening!"

[how he felt when he first came to a church activity at age 16] "They have something inside that make them be as happy as they are."

~my favorite moment~ describing what he said to his mother/how he felt after his first missionary lesson. he GRABS THE MICROPHONE AND STARTS SHAKING IT "The True Church!!!!!!!!! It is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" :) :) :) :) :) :) :) <3

[talking about everyone we meet] "There is a spirit inside saying, [here he starts waving his hand in the air] Please! I'm here!"

"It is the Church of Jesus Christ, even with its imperfections."

[to the Lord] "Put across my way, & I will talk, I will do it."

"I will make some mistakes but I will act. If I will mistake it will be acting."

"Even not knowing what to expect, one thing I already know - the Spirit will be there. Because this is the Church of Jesus Christ. This is His church." <3 [i feel like this one is especially for me <3]

(talking about how husbands should say "i love you" to their wives more often... this is what not to say ;)) "I told her when I married her that I love her so if I change my mind I will let her know."

"Going to walmart is not a date!"

& many more great things that I can't write down... you just had to be there :) I love the church of Jesus Christ. I love to feel the Spirit :)

Milwaukee South Stake Conference this weekend was such a blessing because this is the stake that I started in...... 18 months ago. #weird. I saw so many people that I knew and a few of them even recognized me and took pictures ;) ALSO, this is cool, I saw a guy that we had been trying to get in to teach right before I left Racine and I was like "hm, i wonder if they ever got to teach him! he's still coming to church!" and THEN.... when they were reading the names of brethren to receive the melchizedek priesthood.... he stood up :) :) :) so appaaaaaaarently, he got baptized. hahaha :) :) :) it was cool :)

I just.... love the saints of the Milwaukee area. they are so amazing. I love to feel of their faith. I love it here in Wisconsin :) :) :) we rode to stake conference sunday with the B and I was talking about how we think they're pretty close to perfect, Brother B says, "Not me! Sister B is though," and Sister B says, "Well, I have a memory problem...." as if that makes it easier for her to be perfect hahaha I love them <3 <3 <3

Easter was great; so many kind friends gave us easter baskets & presents & flowers that smell good and took such good care of us. I know I'm coming "home" this week but I kind of feel like my home is here too :) :) :)

Well. I don't have much else to say I guess. A lot of things are changing this week.... but some things I know will never change. I am a servant of the Lord. today & forever. and i love that :) :) :)

one more thing before I go --- He Lives. Christ lives. & He is leading His church. He is active. not a memory, not a inspiration, not words on a page. not nice thoughts to live by. He lives. I know that He lives. and I know that He leads this church. This is the true and living church of Jesus Christ, and I am blessed to be His witness :) :) :)

"For verily I say unto you, that great things await you;" (D&C 45:62) :)

I'm excited to see you, dear family. You are the only thing that's making leaving behind my favorite life okay :) :) :)

love, love, love you forever        sister cecelia proffit

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ :)

oh hey there, family :)FIRST OF ALL, to anyone who hasn't seen this already....... mormon.org/BecauseofHim

it is legit and you don't even have to be mormon to like it. i believe in Jesus Christ. i love Him and i try my best to serve Him <3 please, watch the video. it will make your heart sing redeeming love :) :) :) so anyways. the world is great. :) other good things include this mormon message http://www.mormonchannel.org/video/mormon-messages?v=3446112587001 and this "i'm a mormon" video (hint: #neontrees) :) :) :) http://www.mormon.org/elainei like those things :) i also have forgotten what it's like to not hear a wisconsin accent. i love the people here. i love the way they speak :) i also love frozen custard. wisconsin is the most beautiful place on earth. if i could take accurate pictures...... i would show you. just picture your heart expanding soooooo wide and big and you can't breathe and you sorta wanna cry because God is just so GOOD. that's how i feel...... a great majority of the time :) :) :) :) :)

tuesday we chased down the UPS man to get a package for sis roylance and we ate kopps <3 frozen custard is legit SO GOOD i can't even explain it. wisconsin is gorgeous and custard is unspeakably good. let that be what you take away from this email hahaha. oh hey. it's snowing outside. :) #happyapril i was about to tell you that most of the snow is melted! buutttt apparently i spoke too soon ;) #wisconsin

wednesday we had LUNCH OUTSIDE IN THE SUN and it was glorious :) :) #finnagetasuntan #belowtheknee ;) also, j m informed me that he would like to set me up with his nephew. #soitbegins #meetthems ;) actually though, it's a super nice compliment........ he told me i remind him of his sister. and "you're the salt of the earth, kid." and that was super nice. if slightly awkward. ;) also on wednesday we taught people the gospel of Jesus Christ. have i mentioned that that is my favorite thing to do........... ever??????? because, it is. FAMILY. this gospel is just so TRUE. i know it, i know it, i know it. GOD HAS A PLAN FOR OUR HAPPINESS. It is centered on Christ’s Atonement and fulfilled by living the first principles and ordinances of the gospel. i know this to be true. i know it, i know it, i know it! it is the best :) :) :) there is a REASON for everything. all of God's commandments have a purpose -- our eternal happiness. shaping us. changing us. molding us to become more like Him -- more happy and loving!!! more ready for our mansions!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) i love Him. i really really do. i try to love Him more every day. He makes it so easy :) :) :) :) :)so. i just love that part of my days :) finna NEVER stop doing THAT...... ;)in the words of Jesus Christ....... "I am the way, the truth, and the life." family, this is true. :) i know it to be true. it makes so happy :) like, cheesy-happy. like, humming "come listen to a prophet's voice" to myself while i'm washing the dishes in my missionary apartment at night happy. :) :) :)"And in the way of truth rejoice/ And sing for joy aloud." :)enough of that. (well, not really, never enough....) but i'll tell you more of that later. like in a dozen-ish days. ;)

in other news......... FAMILY HISTORY. is quickly taking over my life hahaha sis roylance & i went to the oconomowoc geneology meeting on thursday morning and we literally haven't stopped talking about it since. the Lord is hastening His work, y'all!!! it is the best. i have so much to show you & talk with you about when i see you :) :) :) who would've ever guessed i'd be so in love with it?????? God, probably.... He's good like that ;) it's so much more than names and reasearch and dead ends!!! it's pictures and stories and computers and fun :) :) :) it's facebook for dead people! :)

here are some truths that i know: - God wants us to be connected to each other. - all of God's commandments have a purpose.... including family history :) the work is sanctifying!- families are the ultimate source of eternal happiness- i love this gospel :)finna get some people to church with this goodness :) :) :) epic promise: “Very simply, the Spirit of Elijah is the Holy Ghost. The Spirit of Elijah will influence anyone who is involved in this work. That, for a young person in the wickedness in the world in which we live today, is one of the greatest safeguards against the temptations of the adversary. The Spirit of Elijah will not only bless you, it will protect you.”—David A. Bednar"

other things i'd like to say: i may be "coming home" but i'm never going back to the person i used to be :) i don't have to! also, update on my feelings: i feel good. i feel like coming home healthy & happier & better than i left is a good thing. I feel like this is what God wants for me now. I feel like change is good. progression is good. it's a miracle hahaha y'all must be praying for me ;)thursday we went to the B's & i love them. We showed Sister B some stuff with family history (more on that later.......) and had a great lesson with d & a g. brother b is the best, y'all. and sister b. and conference talks :) gems: "You are more than human. You are a child of God.""Family is the pattern of heaven." truth truth truth out of the earth, my friends :)

anyways. i know that the message of the restoration is true and i know that this is the message that the world needs to hear. it has changed my life and it has given me my family, the most important thing in the world to me. i know that it is true. and that is everything to me :) :) :) i wish i could explain it better over email hahah. example of how family history is becoming our favorite problem: "i hope i dream about family history........" ~sis roylance

then we went back to the bs on friiiiiiday and followed up with family history........ and had a miracle. first of all, she had found 157 names to take to the temple on her direct line alone. <3 then we were clicking around and saw "reverend john rogers" ... sister b: "oh, we should do his work! he knows the truth by now!" ;) click on him. see, "burned at the stake" by his death date. ummmmmmmmm? click further. discover that he is one of the FIRST PROTESTANT MARTYRS under queen mary I. um??? legit. it was soooooo cool. we googled & found a story about him and sister b is reading it and C R Y I N G and then I'M crying AND l a u g h i n g because what even is happening????? it was an explosion of emotions. all at once. it was the greatest, greatest moment friends :) :) :) :) :) i'll show it to you later. also she typed up what happened & gave it to us hahah :) :) :) <3 also, sis b had the lower lights playing at her house :) "i like the Christian life..." :) i do, i really do :)

quote from my studies: "when we yield our hearts to the Lord, the attractions of the world simply lose their luster." this is true, my friends! i pretty much don't care about anything if it's not related to the work of salvation hahaha. not that my heart is completely yielded. but i don't want to take any of it back. i want to give it all to the Lord. i straight up don't care about so many of the things i used to care so much about hahaha. please bless this never changes :) :) :)

thursday during the lesson, brother b gestured to us while he was saying "these are women of God" and i thought, "dang. i want to be 'of God!'" :) so that's my goal :) help me out with it? :)

saturday we went to noodles & co with c. that place is delicious & i love it. good job wisconsin :)

sometimes, we talk to strangers & stop people on the street and talk to them about Jesus Christ and it's fun. this church is true, y'all :)this is good too https://www.lds.org/bible-videos/videos/to-this-end-was-i-born?lang=eng :)

okay this is getting random & out of control & not very eloquent. my bad. oh well. :)

we also helped the w with family history. finna set this ward on fiiiiiire. love this ward so much :) :) :) also brother w gave me a bro-ish side hug. because we're friends & he's like 60. :) :) :)

SUNDAY. (yes, you made it to sunday.) :) B CAME TO CHURCH. even though she was sick. hooray!! :) :) :)

we had washington rain & when i stepped outisde i felt like i was home <3

best quote from gospel principles teacher sister g: "& dontchyou know that when we do good things, that God claps for us." <3 i wish you could hear the sincerity in her voice and feel the power of her testimony. it is amazing and i love her :) i just love this gospel so so much and i know that it is true. my testimony has been so strengthened this week and over the past 75 weeks. or so. ;)  sister m gave me lemon drops 'cause she knows they're my favorite <3

i have a happy life :)

sunday night: "can i just say that jacob talking to sherem = story of my LIFE???" ~ sis roylance. hahahaha. sometimes we get frustrated. things are hard. but we are happy :) the gospel is true, y'all! and that makes this life worth living. that makes every day worth every effort. that makes this message worth sharing :) :) :) :) :) i. love. the gospel of Jesus Christ. i really really do :) i'm a happy happy girl. i love this place. i love you all. i'll see you very soon :) :) :)

xoxoxoxoxoxo

have a safe & happy easter week. remember to share the message, however you can, however the spirit prompts you to :) I testify that God loves each of us. He knows us, individually & by name. He hears & answers our prayers. On our own, we are nothing. But with Him, we have everything :) :) :) :) :) His grace is sufficient. and i love Him more each day :) :)               xoxoxo                love you family :)                   happy happy sister cece :)

UPDATE: straight up BLIZZARD outside hahahahaha :) :) :) #leftmycoatathome #thoughtiwasdonewiththis........ #april :)

“I wanna be cool for the Lord, not for the world” :)

oh, family. :)

first of all, i would just like to say that i believe in living prophets. i do, i do, i do. i believe that God still speaks to His chosen servants and that they lead His church with His authority. and, i love that. i love, love, love it. :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

so this weekend was obviously great.

BUT MORE THINGS HAPPENED THAT ARE GREAT.

first of all, a miracle on monday. A G SET A BAPTISM DATE. !!!!!! family, here i must confess that i did not have very much faith going in to this lesson hahaha we've tried to set a date with her before about 2 months ago or so and she was just like "no, no, no, no, no, no, no" literally shaking her head. sooooooooo okay. i would here like to express my gratitude for new companions coming in and being like "we should totally set a date with her" and for having faith and being persistant and loving and helping her to set her own date. #murricle. family, her heart has been so softened. i blame the Book of Mormon and the Spirit. :) :) :) it seriously wasn't us or anyone. it was the Lord. & it's been a long time coming. :) :) :) :) :) [she's been investigating for like 7 years but has never read the Book of Mormon or set a date... until now :) :)] and i just loved it. i loved really feeling like i'm helping someone. cause sometimes you feel like you're just wandering around talking at people hahah. but that night i really felt the change. and i learned that you never never never EVER give up on people :) :) :) :) :) also, quote from her: "ever since you guys have been coming over, prayers have become more of a regular thing" :) i would like to point out that we don't usually talk about prayer. #SPIRIT :) :) :) :) :) anyways. i loved that :) :)

tuesday, zone training day! it was great. according to elder bednar, (who was not there.... he just told president cutler this. because they hang out. apparently.) "our work is changing, turning, and purifying hearts" :) we're trying a new focus on family history and i'm so excited! turns out that's what ammon & aaron & them did.... we always think about them using the scriptures when it talks about them opening & expounding the records of their fathers, & that's true, but it's also family history! how cool! so i'm excited :) :) also on tuesday we drove through racine to my favorite danish bakery and purchased a delicious apricot cheese cobbler kringle that was magnificently delicious and i wish i could send it to you <3 and we also went to go see lake michigan. and then we drove through the "ghetto" because sis ruiz wanted to see it hahaha <3 :) :) also elder goodale & elder mcdougal made me a booklet called "adjusting to non-missionary life". it is tacky & horrible & i love it hahaha :) :) :)also on tuesday a dog winked at me and i winked back #whathaveibecome. and when i asked o why we should be excited for conference or why it's important or something like that, she said "well that's a stupid question!!" hahaha #converted? ;)

on wednesday we went to culvers (shocking i know) and i would just like to reiterate how much i love that food and i WISH that i could mail frozen custard to you #butterburgerbaby ;)  also, talked to a man on his roof. #canwepraywithyou.....? ;) got a free museum tour by talking about family history. and FOUND NAMES to take to the temple when i get home!!!!!!!! pandora's hope chest, people. also, i've heard puzilla is pretty cool. but i haven't tried it. yet. but seriously, what a miracle!! i thought our line was all dried up, no more names to be found.... wrongo chongo bongo. i found 12. finna take them to the temple in 3 weeks :) :) :) anyways. we love family history now. who knew??? :) :) :) [update: in the time it took me to write this letter, i found 17 more names... :)]

best quote from thursday: "i'm sure i could find some people we could teach some gospel principles to!" ~ a c #getsit :) :) :) i love her because i feel like we're on one team with her. & it's cool :) :) :) other best quote: "as it says in preach my gospel..... oh heck, i'm becoming sister proffit!" ~ sister ruiz hahahaha :) :)  i would here like to say that i love this trio :) i love sister roylance and i love sister ruiz. they are great :) :) :)

friday we had great weekly planning. which sounds boring but is exciting hahaha :) also, great quotes from companions (we love trio comp study) :) :)(talking about ether 12:34) "mansions are big to hold all the people that you love inside! the more people you love, the bigger your mansion will be" ~ sister roylance :) :) not sure if that's doctrine but i liked it :) :)"i'm surprised at how many problems can be overcome by being friends with people..." ~ sister ruiz :):) can you tell why i love them so much? :)

AND THEN IT WAS SATURDAY. and saturday was general conference. and i LOVED LOVED LOVED it so much :) :) :) :) :) we watched saturday morning at the j's house and they are great. they gave me a lemon juice / ginger root / cayene pepper shot to stay awake. it worked really well hahaha. also, the wimpy verse club is back. and brother b, wml & former stake president, is a proud member hahaha ;) ;) ;)i can't compose my thoughts completely so i'll just share a few favorite things :)

elder nelson talking about letting your faith show -- me in my head: "let it show! let it show!" a la frozen :) :)

sorry everyone but all the talks were for me....... so that was convenient ;)

this song = perfection :)
We thank thee, O God, for a prophet / To guide us in these latter days. We thank thee for sending the gospel / To lighten our minds with its rays. / We thank thee for every blessing / Bestowed by thy bounteous hand. / We feel it a pleasure to serve thee / And love to obey thy command...We doubt not the Lord nor his goodness. / We've proved him in days that are past...We'll sing of his goodness and mercy. / We'll praise him by day and by night, / Rejoice in his glorious gospel, / And bask in its life-giving light. / Thus on to eternal perfection / The honest and faithful will go :)loved it :) also, best accent = a tie between elder zivic & elder aidukaitis. i would also like to say that i got the spelling of his name down right on the first try soooooo... #proudofmyself ;)

saturday night we got to watch the priesthood session with sister w at her cute little condo and can we just say SMACK DOWN by elder oaks????? it was awesome :) :) :) :) :) thumbs up for LIVING PROPHETS & APOSTLES :) :) :) also, glad i got to hear president uchtdorf talk about "rip van vinkle" hahaha

SUNDAY gems: "i rrrrrrrrrrrecommend it to you!" ~ elder perry hahahaha i thought of mom saying that when prophets "recommend" something you should probably just do it.... hahaha :) :) :)

also, elder aidukaitis. couldn't handle. he kind of looks like the bad guy from phineas & ferb? hahaha. i'll share with you my more spiritual notes later..... like in 2 1/2 weeks haha ;)

also, sunday was pretty much ruined (but then saved by conference) because PRESIDENT CUTLER called at 9am (cue: heart attack) and told sister ruiz that she's being ET'd to marshfield..... TOMORROW. #brokentrio #brokenheart #literallycrying #ifeelitsnotfine

sooooooooooooooooo we blasted vocal point on our way to the church to console ourselves. #dannyboy #heisborn #superloud #ilovethemidwest

to quote a letter from a friend of mine: "It's the ephemerality of it all that makes it so sweet."

this is true, family. true about a lot of things :)

i love you times a million, family. i'm grateful for living prophets & apostles. i know that Jesus Christ leads His church today though them. they "keep us in the narrow way" (hymns, #103) and they point us to truth and right. there is an anchor of eternal truth in this crazy crazy world. those who follow God's prophets will never go astray. and, i love it. i love you guys. families are central to everything we do and are about. thanks for being the best :) :)

xoxoxo

sister proffit :)

ps -- yesterday we ate something for sister ruiz (she couldn't finish it b/c she didn't like it) while the family who made the food was out of the room #amirealmissionarynow? ;) #triopower :)

“you smile more than most people I’ve met” J

and SUDDENLY it's monday again and march is over and time is going by waaaayyyyyyyyyy to fast. i still feel like it's 2 weeks ago.... or maybe november.... or maybe july sometime. or maybe last year. i'm not sure hahaha. but it's going by way too fast. i blink twice and i don't know where i am. but it's good :) :) it's been a fantastically awesome week, again! as always!! haha it's hard to be sad when you're a missionary for Jesus Christ in the greatest land you know :) :)

so monday was awesome, we went to Holy Hill and I sent you pictures... we got lost in Merton (again) but managed to find our way to where we were going, and then sang a spanish hymn (#88) that was great.

tuesday was 4th CHRISTMAS and i love my district because the lake mills elders showed up in green & red ties with santa hats and candy canes for everyone <3 #bffs it was a party :) also, guess how many times i've been to culvers this week? answer: i lost track after 4. but guess how many culvers miracles we saw this week? THREE.  1) we went to culvers for tuesday lunch with the lake mills sisters because (tragically!) they do not have a culvers in their area. thennnnn after dtm we were coming back and o texted us and was like "i'm starving! can you bring culvers to our lesson?" soooooo we went back to the same culvers less than 4 hours later (look who's back agaainnnn...!) and of course the workers recognized us hahaha but it was cool because the lady who took our order was like "who are you? are you all sisters? why does your nametag say Jesus Christ?" and we were like well, let us tell you! we are all children of God! which means that we are all sisters! how cool is that? and she was like "way cool! i'm gonna put extra cookie dough on your frozen custard!" hahah :) :) 2) we went on exchanges to the midtown culvers in milwaukee. i would just like to mention that we were the only white people in the entire building and it was fun. we wore our butterburger baby vests and had a jolly ol' time, and then someone came up to us and was like, "are you in the ministry?" and we were like "why, yes!" and then we talked about Jesus Christ and read a verse from the Book of Mormon together, and it was glorious. 3) the flavor of the day on wednesday was my all-time favorite so i bought a quart. and it did not disappoint :) :) :) so that was a fun week... hahaha. on a more spiritual note, cool things i learned:  alma 18:42 - king lamoni's conversion, he "dies" in a way - the old man is dead, and new life begins with conversion :) we've been listening to a david osmond cd "road less traveled" a lot, and one of the songs ("loneliest walk") has lyrics that i really life.... "His body bruised and back still open from the scourging / the consequence of wicked men / He knows no man on earth has ever deserved this / but still He bears it all for them" <3 it's a really great song :) and one of the other ones got me thinking - when Christ said "let him who is without sin cast the first stone at her" i never realized - there was someone without sin there. but He didn't. and it's cool. :)

tuesday we went to the J's and i laughed ridiculously hard :) :)

wednesday was exchanges and dang. i just love being a missionary SO SO MUCH <3 <3 <3 at one point we were just sitting in the car in menomonee falls, making some phone calls, and i was like dang. i am so. so. happy right now. just so happy and content. i love this life i lead :) :) :) i get to help people, really help people with their actual deepest needs by helping them to get real, life-changing, life-saving power that's legit. it's so real and i love it :) :) :) and there is no way i am stopping that come april haha ;) i love milwaukee and exchanges and this missionary life :) also we had a lesson with a cool guy who told us "you smile more than most people i've met" and that's why he wanted to talk with us. and that's pretty legit :) :) :) it made me happy :)

thursday i decided that i want to see the saratov approach when i get home... also we taught a great lesson to a new friend and i like doing that sort of thing :) quotes: (whilst eating chocolate eclair frozen custard) "I would rather be blind than lose my sense of taste." ~ sister roylance. "Would you be this flakey with Jesus???" ~ sister roylance (seriously though....) ;) "if you came back to visit, i would not remember you." ~ m s (you may remember him from the Christmas skype session ;) also, remember how Christmas was soooooooooo long ago and also feels like last week?????)  also, got a priceless photograph from sister blood & sister begay of two elders who legit look like harry and ron. attaching a copy, obviously. :) :) :)

friday i was mad and then excited because they changed ZTM from elkhorn to kenosha which means no baby burritos and more miles but YES revisiting racine and going to O&H bakery one last time before i go home and also seeing lake michigan :) :) :) so, perks. finna make the most out of it :) friday was also kind of weird because we have a friend who is.... kind of weird and when we invited her to be baptized on a specific date she was like "i'm getting rreeeaallllly angryyyyy... heh heh heh......" and then she cast out a devil. or something. which was. really weird. hahahaha. but we survived ;) us: "good feeling gone!" (finding nemo) ;) it was interesting, that's for sure!! hahaha. don't worry, we are safe... hahah :) she also told us (before) that she wants to be sure that the Book of Mormon is true because "I don't want to get baptized into Satanland!!" hahaha. it made me laugh because... that's something i would say?? ;) friday was also kind of awesome because it was LINGER LONGER and i love the Kettle Moraine ward and i love Sister Ruiz and Sister Roylance and I love good music and so on the drive home sister ruiz was like "let's jam this out" and then we listened to our favorite song and drove home in beautiful darkness in beautiful wisconsin and i was happy <3 also on friday i got a letter from my BFF sister c and she included her husband n c' first talk in sacrament meeting and it just made my heart so happy.... it's the sort of thing you always want to get from someone you love :) :) :) also on friday we got like a kabillion legit referrals because this ward is wonderful :) finna have some dinna with members & their friends! also, we had someone "take back" a referral but only because they wanted to "do it right" and instead of having us pretend to tract into them she wants to tell her that she knows our message will help her and that she's sending us and to just listen. soooooo even better :) :) :) we're excited :)

SATURDAY was wonderful because we got to teach my friends t n and s who are children of a j and s is their step-mom (yes there are two s(h) j... i love them both) :) and we're finna watch conference with them. and THEN we went to milwaukee for the women's conference! and it was glorious even though all of our friends who say they would come did not come. but that is okay. we had a wonderful time nonetheless :) :) i love the women of wisconsin! aaaaaand i got to see SO MANY FRIENDS from Racine!!! it was magical!! i literally did a little hop-skip-jump of joy when i saw my friend sister johnson who fed me peppermint ice cream on one of my first days on a mission :) :) :) it was glorious. i loved it :) :) a year and change later... wow. :) also on saturday it was 40 degrees and that is leave your coat at home and drive around with the windows rolled down weather, so we loved it :) :) also we went to Kopps and it was delicious. (kopps is another frozen custard place........ i don't have a problem, i'm just trying to make the most of my time in wisconsin!!! hahaha) anyways. saturday at women's conference it was great. the mke south stake had their own women's conference just before, and we loved it. did you ever read Exodus 14:21? the parting of the red sea is not how you pictured it! :) and then, of course, i loved the general women's broadcast. when i heard a women's voice announcing instead of lloyd newell's though i said "what the heck????" probably way too loud.... ;) also, greatest loves = the first presidency for each other and for being themselves. it's my favorite hahaha. #triopower ;) singing "teach me to walk" = me crying. basically everything about women's conference = me crying because i love my mom and my sisters and my grammas and my aunts and i've been so blessed to have such amazing women in my life, and i love my mission so every time they mention anything remotely related to missions i'm like sobbing, and then i really really miss my mom and my sisters and when i left my sisters were so young and now they're so old and so basically i was just crying. also the Spirit was really really strong ;) haha. i loved it. :) also loved the new camera angles. the church is so hip these days ;) so... yes. i loved it :)

here is something you should read... it's from Preach my Gospel :)
"Truth is a knowledge of things as they really are, were, and will be. It does not change with conditions or time. God is the source of all truth. God wants all His children to know the truth. Therefore, He reveals the truths necessary for salvation through prophets and apostles. He reveals truth to us personally through the scriptures and personal revelation.
A prophet is called and chosen by God and is a righteous man with great faith. The Lord reveals truth to him through the Holy Ghost. He commands His prophet to teach truth to all people.
Christ’s Church is built on the foundation of apostles and prophets, who direct the Church by revelation. [Those] who lead The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today are... prophets and apostles. The President of the Church today is a living prophet.
We are to prepare ourselves so that when the prophets and apostles speak, the Holy Ghost can confirm the truths they teach, and we can then determine to follow the counsel they give us.
(this last part is the best) Those who listen to and follow the counsel of living prophets and apostles will not go astray. The teachings of living prophets provide an anchor of eternal truth in a world of shifting values and help us avoid misery and sorrow. The confusion and strife of the world will not overwhelm us, and we can enjoy the assurance of being in harmony with God’s will.":) :) :) if that doesn't get you pumped up for conference, i don't know what will :) :) :) sooooo i'm excited :)

also, on sunday i met some Bates from Singapore who said "Sister Proffit? that actually sounds really familiar..." so perhaps they know the other sister proffit preaching and teaching on the other side of the world :) that was cool :)  good news from Sunday: A G came to church! it was a miracle! and we didn't even have to push and poke and prod haha it was great :) :) :) also, a precious young woman named m s gave a talk about family love and said "we can show our love through warm gooey brownies.... sharing our toys..... angel food cake with strawberries..... being nice..... ice cream..... and going to disneyland four times a year!!" hahaha i was dying. laughter in church. it's how i roll ;) also, had dinner with the n's and brother n said, completely seriously, "i felt like i was eating a rainbow..." [about pineapple in hawaii]

sooooo... obviously the best week ;) hahaha.

more good things: IT WAS OVER 60 DEGREES OUTSIDE. murricle. almost all the snow is melted ;) got to take a nap. and bishop taught a great 5th sunday lesson on combating pornography. fact: bishop w is awesome. seriously, so great. quote - "We need to match the adversary in deliberateness in combating him." this is truth.

things that are awkward: comp inventory in a trio. hahaha i think we did more awkward laughing than speaking buuuuuuuttttttt it was good. we set some good goals. so there ya go :)

i love them! i love this area! i love missionary work! i love my family and i love this gospel :) life is full of good things <3 well. that's all i guess :) this gospel gets truer every day. i love my life. God is good :)

“that portion of mankind God has given us to love & to serve”

oh hey there family! :) long time no see...... seriously though haha. :) :)   happy st. patrick's day! ... last week! haha i hope you went all out and wore all green everything, because i did and it was glorious. mint-green top with teal-green skirt? oh baby, youbetcha ;) hahaha. plus i have a nice green raincoat i can wear because miracle of miracles, it's finally raincoat season and i have retired the giant black sleeping bag :) farewell, mission parka. you have done me well. i will be wearing you in the seattle-tacoma airport on april 24th, 2014, because there is no way you are fitting in any of my bags <3 #packingjoys ;) anyways, st. patty's day was great, we went to bishop w's house and they are obviously my favorite. everyone (except the 2 yr old? #independantstreak) was wearing audacious green and we ate corned beef and cabbage... which is REALLY salty.... and drank "leprechaun dump in a cup" even though bishop told the kids not to call it that hahaha. and it was really really fun and i love them. :) :) :) and we had a delicious minty treat. i am trying to make this email not all about food but it's difficult sometimes hahah ;) also we took a selfie on bishop's phone for seester blood and we were trying to email it to me and i was struggling HARDCORE with the iphone 5 hahaha and bishop was like "come on sister proffit.... iphones existed before your mission, you know!" hahahaha. seriously struggling though hahaha #missionjoys ;)

tuesday i realized that the prophet on the cover of the january 2014 ensign looks like benedict cumberbatch (bbc actor) so that was cool. tuesday we also went to the m's to teach o:) a series of great things ensued. 1) we were like "hey, we have a few extra minutes and it's almost 50 degrees, lets go to culvers and get a scoop for o!" so we did, and we brought it to her, and turns out it was her FAVORITE flavor and she was having a hard day. so good. job. Spirit. :) :) :) #revelationthroughdesireforculvers ;) 2) c m (age 8) came home from school. sis m: "hi sweetie!" cameron: "I'M STARVING AND I HAVE TO GO TO THE BATHROOM." me: story of my life, kid.... hahaha. :) :) <3 them 3) (and this one is a legit miracle....) we were teaching o el plan de salvacion (i <3 language study <3) and her mom walks in to say that she's going to the store or something.... and her mom has declined to hear the lessons etc before, and she's not extremely supportive (not un-supportive, but not like weeping for joy either) but today before she leaves she goes, "since i'm here, would you guys mind saying a prayer for me?" and so we did.... and it was awesome. there's a couple of moments on my mission that have been like... whoosh. so intense. usually i'm praying for someone who really needs it. and it's like a lot of pressure, but it's not, and the Spirit is strong and i'm so grateful. and that's the kind of moment that it was. and it feels good. i love this missionary gig. :) :) anyways. it was awesome. :) also on tuesday we got to teach a and i love her. i've discovered an enormous love for teaching the basics. restoration. plan of salvation. i think that's all i'm gonna teach till i go home <3 <3 <3 :) :) also, the trio is still great. i love sister roylance & sister ruiz :) :) :)

wedesday we got to teach the m... they are great. they are funny and old but they are great :) 1 ne 15-16... which was their assignment to read last time haha but they forgot so we did 1 ne 11-14 twice in a row ;) #dejavu #groundhogday? ;) also had a moment on wednesday, driving around oconomowoc... i think we were stopped at a light or something and i just realized how much i love these people. how much i love what i'm doing. how grateful i am to be here :) :) i was reading a talk by president kimball where he talks about "that portion of mankind God has given us to love & to serve" and just reflecting a bit. i like this life :) ALSO. family, this is really exciting. you might want to pay attention to this part. i have discovered one of my new greatest loves. it is this: not doing menial labor because a computer is doing it for me <3 and how i discovered it is this: PANDORA'S HOPE CHEST. it's an extension on google chrome. get it now and then go to familysearch.org. IT WILL SEARCH YOUR FAMILY TREE FOR THOSE WHO NEED THEIR TEMPLE WORK DONE. like, HELLO. where has this been all my life. no more clicking back forever & ever & ever & ever.... now, a computer will do that for us :) :) :) :) seriously, DO THAT and then take those names to the temple & do more research :) :) :) :) :) so that was cool. scripture chains discovered this week: 2 Ne. 26:15 / Alma 5:7-9. God does the heavy lifting :) 2 Ne. 25:23 / Alma 24:10-11. what is "all we can do"? :) :) pretty cool.

thursday was interviews and those were fun. president prefaced mine by saying we weren't going to talk about me going home, we have another interview for that, so that was nice hahaha :) we also introduced ourselves and our "spirit animals" in dtm... best quote: "my spirit animal is a giraffe. yellow's my favorite color and i have freckles. i was meant to be.... well, a person, because i'm a child of God." hahahahah <3 sister plante ;) also i got a sick cd from elder hedgecock (titled, "sister proffit's jams for her last transfer!" hahaha) and a fantastically hilarious letter from sister blood. so it was a good thursday. also went to le ducs for the reputedly best custard in the state of wisconsin, and it was great. i asked the boy working there what i should get and this was a huge mistake because he recommended (and i ordered... and ate...) the "topper" burger. which is legit a burger with deep fried cheese curds and an onion ring and bbq sauce. clearly invented by a teenage boy and never meant for human consumption. but i ate it. and survived. and then drank a regular black cow that only cost me the price of a jr black cow because blessings of missionary service. #suddenlywerebacktofood #andfreefood #mygreatestlove? ;) #youonlyserveamissioninwisconsinonce

best quote from friday (obviously from my bestie s j)... sisters r asked her how she came in contact with the church. "We [her & her now-husband] were carrying these giant santa claus bags full of cans out to our tent in the forest and he just busts out, "hey, i'm a mormon priest!" :) :) :) :) :) :) :) ohhhhhhh family. someday soon i will tell you about her and my other best friend aron (her husband) and how the gospel literally changes and saves lives daily. i love them so much. i love this gospel so so much :) :) :) :) :) :) :)friday we also went to a FRIDAY FISH FRY (finally!!) and it was great. tommy & di's diner in mapleton, wisconsin. where it's at :) :) and we taught the gospel.... and we loved our friends.... and it was a generally great great day. i love missionary work :) :) :)

saturday sister b presented me with a wonderful present.... a placemat map. hahahaha story.... i have a newfound love/appreciate/obsession with geography, thanks to the maps in our apartment. so at her house for dinner once i was talking about it........ and then like a month later she bought me a map placemat of my own hahaha what a priceless friend she is :) :) :) and she told the person where she bought it that it was for a missionary and she's going to go back and tell him that i love it and give him a passalong card hahaha #membermissionarywork ;) also on saturday we got to teach the lovely a c again and she got to feel the Spirit tell her what she needs to do to repent and then she recognized it and acted on it and did it and i love it :) :) also she gave us like 5 legit referrals hahaha #testimonystrengthened :) :) :) and i love the plan of salvation. and i love a. and i love missionary work :) :)

also taught the J KIDS finallyyyyyyyyyy and it was great. they have a 14-year-old son who is legit and wants to have the Spirit in his life. so obviously i loved that even more than i loved the eggplant spaghetti sauce we had on our noodles for dinner. #healthfood #wordofwizdom ;) also, took us 3 minutes to drive to their house, and 10 minutes to parallel park. #howmanysistermissionariesdoesittaketoparallelparkamissioncarinoconomowoc #apparently3... #triopower. sister ruiz was literally hanging out the side of the car directing sister roylance hahaha #ifeelitsfine ;) also, i've been learning spanish slang. so now i say "chin!" (cheeeen!) instead of freak & heck #gome ;) also, quote from sister ruiz: "everything denotes that there is a weirdness in sister proffit" hahaha ;) <3

sunday was beautiful. sunday always is :) a & her mom came to church!! all three hours!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) miracle.  and then afterwards we contacted a referral from s (the crazy cat man of oconomowoc.... we finna go back another time) :) and then went to see my favorite 95 year old, a g. and we commenced to laugh really really hard for a really really really long time :) :) :) new favorite thing: profound quotes that don't actually make sense.

"Life is like a mirror. Whatever you see reflects back at you." ~ a g <3 :) it's a nice idea though. i liked it :) also she told sister ruiz (who is mexican) that mexico is a horrible country. she didn't realize she was mexican and didn't understand why we were all laughing hysterically hahaha. there were several more funny quotes but you probably had to be there.......... missions are the best, that's all i'll say :) :)  also i love espanol and i love language study. i'm practicing praying and testifying en espanol and it is muito bom (that's portugese for very good.. hahaha) :) also yesterday sister ruiz taught us the restoration en portuges and i got kinda lost but when she started saying the first vision.... i still didn't understand what she was saying but i felt the difference. so i knew which part she was on. it was cool :) :) :) me gusta language study!!! :) :) :) goal: read the entire libro de mormon out loud. eventually. :)

okay okay okay. that is all i have to say. it's been a muito bom week :) :) i love missionary work and i love kettle moraine and i love my companions and i love my friends. and i love YOU, familia. see you when i see you :) :) :) the work is true! the gospel is true. o evangelio abensoa as familias. (no idea how to spell that but i can say it.) :)  i love you mucho mucho :) :) :)xoxoxoxoxoxox seester cecelia proffit :) :) :)

scripture of the week =  1 Ne 16:8 (again) because.... I'm happy. and sometimes I'm so happy that just saying the words "I'm the happiest i have ever been in my whole entire life because of the gospel/my mission/etc" or just "I'm happy!" is enough to make me cry :) :) :) oh we also taught the g's on thursday... [he's less-active, she's been investigating off & on for like 7 years....] out of 1 ne 8 (tree of life) and were like okay seriously though..... where do you see this going????? what do you desire?? what's gonna get you there???? and it was good. understanding was had. commitments were made and kept. except they still didn't come to church. but she's hopefully been reading daily... we text her every day to see how's it's going hahah ;)   okay that is all :) also, the j's do the pathways program. did you know you can go to byu for $65/credit?????????????????

also -- told the ward council j h was a ninja. they were like "......" but they said they'd help us catch him :) :)
