“you smile more than most people I’ve met” J

and SUDDENLY it's monday again and march is over and time is going by waaaayyyyyyyyyy to fast. i still feel like it's 2 weeks ago.... or maybe november.... or maybe july sometime. or maybe last year. i'm not sure hahaha. but it's going by way too fast. i blink twice and i don't know where i am. but it's good :) :) it's been a fantastically awesome week, again! as always!! haha it's hard to be sad when you're a missionary for Jesus Christ in the greatest land you know :) :)

so monday was awesome, we went to Holy Hill and I sent you pictures... we got lost in Merton (again) but managed to find our way to where we were going, and then sang a spanish hymn (#88) that was great.

tuesday was 4th CHRISTMAS and i love my district because the lake mills elders showed up in green & red ties with santa hats and candy canes for everyone <3 #bffs it was a party :) also, guess how many times i've been to culvers this week? answer: i lost track after 4. but guess how many culvers miracles we saw this week? THREE.  1) we went to culvers for tuesday lunch with the lake mills sisters because (tragically!) they do not have a culvers in their area. thennnnn after dtm we were coming back and o texted us and was like "i'm starving! can you bring culvers to our lesson?" soooooo we went back to the same culvers less than 4 hours later (look who's back agaainnnn...!) and of course the workers recognized us hahaha but it was cool because the lady who took our order was like "who are you? are you all sisters? why does your nametag say Jesus Christ?" and we were like well, let us tell you! we are all children of God! which means that we are all sisters! how cool is that? and she was like "way cool! i'm gonna put extra cookie dough on your frozen custard!" hahah :) :) 2) we went on exchanges to the midtown culvers in milwaukee. i would just like to mention that we were the only white people in the entire building and it was fun. we wore our butterburger baby vests and had a jolly ol' time, and then someone came up to us and was like, "are you in the ministry?" and we were like "why, yes!" and then we talked about Jesus Christ and read a verse from the Book of Mormon together, and it was glorious. 3) the flavor of the day on wednesday was my all-time favorite so i bought a quart. and it did not disappoint :) :) :) so that was a fun week... hahaha. on a more spiritual note, cool things i learned:  alma 18:42 - king lamoni's conversion, he "dies" in a way - the old man is dead, and new life begins with conversion :) we've been listening to a david osmond cd "road less traveled" a lot, and one of the songs ("loneliest walk") has lyrics that i really life.... "His body bruised and back still open from the scourging / the consequence of wicked men / He knows no man on earth has ever deserved this / but still He bears it all for them" <3 it's a really great song :) and one of the other ones got me thinking - when Christ said "let him who is without sin cast the first stone at her" i never realized - there was someone without sin there. but He didn't. and it's cool. :)

tuesday we went to the J's and i laughed ridiculously hard :) :)

wednesday was exchanges and dang. i just love being a missionary SO SO MUCH <3 <3 <3 at one point we were just sitting in the car in menomonee falls, making some phone calls, and i was like dang. i am so. so. happy right now. just so happy and content. i love this life i lead :) :) :) i get to help people, really help people with their actual deepest needs by helping them to get real, life-changing, life-saving power that's legit. it's so real and i love it :) :) :) and there is no way i am stopping that come april haha ;) i love milwaukee and exchanges and this missionary life :) also we had a lesson with a cool guy who told us "you smile more than most people i've met" and that's why he wanted to talk with us. and that's pretty legit :) :) :) it made me happy :)

thursday i decided that i want to see the saratov approach when i get home... also we taught a great lesson to a new friend and i like doing that sort of thing :) quotes: (whilst eating chocolate eclair frozen custard) "I would rather be blind than lose my sense of taste." ~ sister roylance. "Would you be this flakey with Jesus???" ~ sister roylance (seriously though....) ;) "if you came back to visit, i would not remember you." ~ m s (you may remember him from the Christmas skype session ;) also, remember how Christmas was soooooooooo long ago and also feels like last week?????)  also, got a priceless photograph from sister blood & sister begay of two elders who legit look like harry and ron. attaching a copy, obviously. :) :) :)

friday i was mad and then excited because they changed ZTM from elkhorn to kenosha which means no baby burritos and more miles but YES revisiting racine and going to O&H bakery one last time before i go home and also seeing lake michigan :) :) :) so, perks. finna make the most out of it :) friday was also kind of weird because we have a friend who is.... kind of weird and when we invited her to be baptized on a specific date she was like "i'm getting rreeeaallllly angryyyyy... heh heh heh......" and then she cast out a devil. or something. which was. really weird. hahahaha. but we survived ;) us: "good feeling gone!" (finding nemo) ;) it was interesting, that's for sure!! hahaha. don't worry, we are safe... hahah :) she also told us (before) that she wants to be sure that the Book of Mormon is true because "I don't want to get baptized into Satanland!!" hahaha. it made me laugh because... that's something i would say?? ;) friday was also kind of awesome because it was LINGER LONGER and i love the Kettle Moraine ward and i love Sister Ruiz and Sister Roylance and I love good music and so on the drive home sister ruiz was like "let's jam this out" and then we listened to our favorite song and drove home in beautiful darkness in beautiful wisconsin and i was happy <3 also on friday i got a letter from my BFF sister c and she included her husband n c' first talk in sacrament meeting and it just made my heart so happy.... it's the sort of thing you always want to get from someone you love :) :) :) also on friday we got like a kabillion legit referrals because this ward is wonderful :) finna have some dinna with members & their friends! also, we had someone "take back" a referral but only because they wanted to "do it right" and instead of having us pretend to tract into them she wants to tell her that she knows our message will help her and that she's sending us and to just listen. soooooo even better :) :) :) we're excited :)

SATURDAY was wonderful because we got to teach my friends t n and s who are children of a j and s is their step-mom (yes there are two s(h) j... i love them both) :) and we're finna watch conference with them. and THEN we went to milwaukee for the women's conference! and it was glorious even though all of our friends who say they would come did not come. but that is okay. we had a wonderful time nonetheless :) :) i love the women of wisconsin! aaaaaand i got to see SO MANY FRIENDS from Racine!!! it was magical!! i literally did a little hop-skip-jump of joy when i saw my friend sister johnson who fed me peppermint ice cream on one of my first days on a mission :) :) :) it was glorious. i loved it :) :) a year and change later... wow. :) also on saturday it was 40 degrees and that is leave your coat at home and drive around with the windows rolled down weather, so we loved it :) :) also we went to Kopps and it was delicious. (kopps is another frozen custard place........ i don't have a problem, i'm just trying to make the most of my time in wisconsin!!! hahaha) anyways. saturday at women's conference it was great. the mke south stake had their own women's conference just before, and we loved it. did you ever read Exodus 14:21? the parting of the red sea is not how you pictured it! :) and then, of course, i loved the general women's broadcast. when i heard a women's voice announcing instead of lloyd newell's though i said "what the heck????" probably way too loud.... ;) also, greatest loves = the first presidency for each other and for being themselves. it's my favorite hahaha. #triopower ;) singing "teach me to walk" = me crying. basically everything about women's conference = me crying because i love my mom and my sisters and my grammas and my aunts and i've been so blessed to have such amazing women in my life, and i love my mission so every time they mention anything remotely related to missions i'm like sobbing, and then i really really miss my mom and my sisters and when i left my sisters were so young and now they're so old and so basically i was just crying. also the Spirit was really really strong ;) haha. i loved it. :) also loved the new camera angles. the church is so hip these days ;) so... yes. i loved it :)

here is something you should read... it's from Preach my Gospel :)
"Truth is a knowledge of things as they really are, were, and will be. It does not change with conditions or time. God is the source of all truth. God wants all His children to know the truth. Therefore, He reveals the truths necessary for salvation through prophets and apostles. He reveals truth to us personally through the scriptures and personal revelation.
A prophet is called and chosen by God and is a righteous man with great faith. The Lord reveals truth to him through the Holy Ghost. He commands His prophet to teach truth to all people.
Christ’s Church is built on the foundation of apostles and prophets, who direct the Church by revelation. [Those] who lead The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today are... prophets and apostles. The President of the Church today is a living prophet.
We are to prepare ourselves so that when the prophets and apostles speak, the Holy Ghost can confirm the truths they teach, and we can then determine to follow the counsel they give us.
(this last part is the best) Those who listen to and follow the counsel of living prophets and apostles will not go astray. The teachings of living prophets provide an anchor of eternal truth in a world of shifting values and help us avoid misery and sorrow. The confusion and strife of the world will not overwhelm us, and we can enjoy the assurance of being in harmony with God’s will.":) :) :) if that doesn't get you pumped up for conference, i don't know what will :) :) :) sooooo i'm excited :)

also, on sunday i met some Bates from Singapore who said "Sister Proffit? that actually sounds really familiar..." so perhaps they know the other sister proffit preaching and teaching on the other side of the world :) that was cool :)  good news from Sunday: A G came to church! it was a miracle! and we didn't even have to push and poke and prod haha it was great :) :) :) also, a precious young woman named m s gave a talk about family love and said "we can show our love through warm gooey brownies.... sharing our toys..... angel food cake with strawberries..... being nice..... ice cream..... and going to disneyland four times a year!!" hahaha i was dying. laughter in church. it's how i roll ;) also, had dinner with the n's and brother n said, completely seriously, "i felt like i was eating a rainbow..." [about pineapple in hawaii]

sooooo... obviously the best week ;) hahaha.

more good things: IT WAS OVER 60 DEGREES OUTSIDE. murricle. almost all the snow is melted ;) got to take a nap. and bishop taught a great 5th sunday lesson on combating pornography. fact: bishop w is awesome. seriously, so great. quote - "We need to match the adversary in deliberateness in combating him." this is truth.

things that are awkward: comp inventory in a trio. hahaha i think we did more awkward laughing than speaking buuuuuuuttttttt it was good. we set some good goals. so there ya go :)

i love them! i love this area! i love missionary work! i love my family and i love this gospel :) life is full of good things <3 well. that's all i guess :) this gospel gets truer every day. i love my life. God is good :)
